I have one on a feeder and water trough. The water trough is probably about 50' away and it picks up activity there and behind it. The flash is supposed to have a range of 100' but I think you're pushing past 60' for either the trigger or the flash.
You also want to be sure that you don't have branches, limbs, etc up close to it. The flash will brighten those up too much to expose the rest of the image.
