I have a 6 X 10 dump trailer that I want to transport on a 2 ton excavator on. The dump trailer has tie down rings in the corners of the box. Has anyone had experience with transporting this way and if so how would recommend securing the excavator? Thanks.

I have hauled a komatsu pc 05 in my 6x 12 many times. I have always put one chain around the back fill blade and the other through the tracks. This machine has steel tracks but I would tie a rubber tracked machine the same way. I drive it up the ramps with the boom forward and then turn it around once on the trailer. In my trailer the load is ballanced better when it is facing the back. I have no problems with my load shifting even with the steel track on a steel deck.
Good Luck, shaun
