Working on acquiring a new MX5400 and need to upgrade the seating beyond just adding air suspension to the existing seat. Due to age and back issues the standard seating (BX25 and M7040) leaves me hobbling into the next day after being in them for a couple of hours. Looked at installing the air ride seat used on the ZD1511 (I can spend six hours in this seat and just be a little stiff in the joints for a while). Unfortunately the ZD seat will not fit in the MX5400, mounting plate, seat elevation etc. This information of not fitting is from the dealer. I have reached out to 'L and M' because they do not list a seat for the MX5400, but have not yet received feedback. I have seen numerous comments on Grammer seats, but would like to hear more from those who have spent hours in the seats before dropping $$ on a seat I am unfamiliar with. thank you

Look at the Grand L models. Nearly the same tractors as the MX models with upgraded features. Grand L 6060 would compare closely to the MX 6000, for example. Air suspension seat (Grammer I think), is a factory option on the Grand L's. It may be that you could get the seat you need without bodging up a brand new tractor to make a different seat fit. And your dealer hasn't mentioned this??

Rather than dealing with finding a complete replacement seat, maybe just buy some foam padding at a hobby store and modify the seat and/or back support with custom cushions. Would have many more options that way.

I did that for my car seat; I do occasional long distance driving and the car seats killed my back. Bought some 4" thick foam padding to sit on, cut it to the proper shape and size, and wrapped it in an old smooth pillow case. Also just stick a rolled up towel behind my back. It's amazing how much that all helps.
