Sealed battery JD 4115 needed, HELP!

The JD battery is venting acid/fumes causing damage to the battery and oil cooler area. I'ved cleaned and repainted the corrosive acid damage.
I,now, need Optima battery information to replace the JD factory upgraded battery to a sealed unit. I heard the battery case color indicates the intended battery use appication. What product number,case color, should I ask to replace my JD 4115 battery?

JD's factory upgrade battery just doesn't fix the problem!

I believe you will need a Yellow 51R

I appreciate the model number information offered. The Optima model, D51R and a longer set of (J) hold down bolts should give me a lasting solution.
Note, the new Optima battery is a little taller than the JD battery. Thanks Pete!

Lots of us have used Remy Battery

They have great service. Sure beats running all over and trying to make something fit...

Just a curious question - why do you suggest a yellow top? I thought a yellow was a deep cycle battery and should be used when it is to be fully drained before recharge. Is not the tractor also charging while operating?

Optima only makes the "51" size in a yellow top. True, it is deep cycle, but that doesn't matter to your tractor. Actually, it's a good match for JD green 'n yellow!! I also used Remy, they have the best prices around. My 4110 did not need longer J-bolts, can't speak for the 4115. Good luck, and don't wait a minute longer!

Koby's got it right. The literature I have says it is an excellent starter battery, as well.

I like the yellow top for tbn-ers especially. We are always seeing posts like " I just put a search beacon on my rops (I drilled it before welding!)"

Or, "Installing an inverter powered buzz welder..."

If your 4115's headlights are set up like my 4100's, and I think they are, you'll want a D51 not a D51R. I ordered a D51R mistakenly and the posts hit the headlight housing account of them being too far forward. If you get the D51 and turn it so the positive post is on the right, as you face the battery, the posts will be towards the radiator screen and will clear the headlight housing.

My 4110 is set up for the D51R. I assume the 4115 is, too.
