scary trailer load

/ scary trailer load #21
Yeah, I wouldn't get to crazy binding a load like that down, But I sure wouldn't just go bare back.

Though now that I have the chain and binders, it would be so easy to throw one on the front and one on the back.

JB.
FWIW, I thought this little bit of info might be of interest. In this example, we are only looking at a few pounds as described. If the load goes over 1,100 lbs the requirements change.

For a sixteen foot length bundle of lumber and no bulkhead on the trailer, three tiedowns would be required. With a bulkhead, two would suffice.

Didn't dent the D-4 or the trailer, and the boss said it would have been the operator's butt not mine but I can still picture the possibility of that D-4 sliding off the trailer & rolling all the way to the botom...

I've seen the aftermath of a D5 or D6 flying off of a semi trailer. No chain on the front, not done right on the rear hitch. I came off the trailer in front of my property going around a curve at 50 or so. The grooves from the tracks are still in the asphalt now almost 20 years later. No cars coming fortunately. The Cat wiped out 40 to 50 feet of fence and finally stopped moving 100' or so inside my fenceline.
