Were they able to figure it out?

I am in the market and had it narrowed down to the Tiger Cat and Ferris IS 700Z, but this thread is definitely making me shy away from the Tiger Cat.

Don't let 1 bad review sway your decision.

I've had my Tiger Cat for 4 years - it hasn't given me an ounce of trouble, knock wood. I have the Briggs Commercial engine. I went in to buy a Kawi - but this was a leftover model and the deal they gave me made it too hard to pass up. I think for every 1 bad review you find, you'll find quite a few more positive reviews.

I agree with E3A, It is unfortunate to get a bad one, but how many good ones are out there going strong?

For the sake of my post here...

The repair shop delivered my mower last Thursday. It runs like new again.
The shop could not explain for sure what was wrong with it.
The shop reworked the new carb and found a bad ground. FTR... The mower always ran fine until they replaced the carb to fix the backfire
when shutting the engine off. The engine still backfires but I don't care at this point.

The FX 1000v Kawasaki engine in my Hustlers has backfired on shutdown since day one.
But it runs great, so I'm not messing with it. As long as its running good, let it backfire
