Hello everyone ! i have a sc2450 that i bought a 1 1/2 years ago. My dealer packed up and left without notice !! My tractor will not stay in high range for some reason. Nearest dealer now is 2 hours away. Hoping someone has a simple fix so i don't have to travel so far. Can hold it in high range and it does fine but it will not stay in on its own . Any ideas ???? Thanks

Here is the shop manual for the Sc2450:

Check the hydraulic fluid level, look for something caught in the linkage.

They have had some trouble check this thread it is no reverse in this forum but the same recall. contact Yanmar.

Had this happen to me before. There is a small holding spring in there that holds the range selector in place. If broken or missing, it will not stay in the selected range. Check the spring!

When I had my SC2400, I had an issue with the parking brake linkage jamming the hydro linkage, now and then, which wouldn't allow the tractor to go faster than a crawl. It didn't do it all the time but began to do it enough to make it hard to mow. So, I took it to the dealer and after checking it all over he said to come and get it because he found nothing wrong and the tractor was running fine. But, when I went to load it on the trailer it happened right in front of the dealer who then found the linkage to be hanging up. I don't know if this is your problem but it might be something to check.
