One day last winter I got an idea for bolt on valve stem protection and cut all the pieces then put it all aside because I couldn't drag the welder from the basement up thru the snow to tack it up on the tractor. Finally I put it together today. Kind of heavy but it looks like it might work.

It's just a piece to fit the opening sandwiched by to plates so it can't move around with a pipe end welded to the outside plate on the bottom and two sides

Are you going to put on a cap end on top? To keep the mud and debris out.

Gordo- That's awesome- pretty much a home version of what came on our 2011 Kubota wheels as OEM.

Thanks PA - No I hadn't seen that thread probably because it is in the Kioti section. There is some good info in it. I was familiar with welded on valve stem protectors on skidders and tractors. My thinking was the same as OldPath's - I wanted to add valve stem protection w/o the hassle and expense of breaking down the tire or worrying about the risk of welding on the rim of a tubed tire. I had heard the idea of using the lug nuts but that somehow didn't appeal to me. This was the solution I came up with.

Mike, I will put a cap on it so it wont fill with frozen mud and packed snow. I will try a PVC cap and see what happens.



Twice I have had to limp out of the woods on three wheels because I bent over a front wheel valve stem on the L3010. Both times the culprit stick was buried under the snow and I was jigging around off my packed trail.
