Tractor News Saw a MX6000 in person

The MX looks to have larger front tires on it than the Grand L series 60hp tractor. Is the front axle heavier duty on the MX5400, MX5800, and MX6000 series than the GrandL series. The GrandL hi low for hydro is very appealing, except for the electronic which I'm wondering if it will be supported for in 20-25 years if parts are needed. The simplicity of the mechanical hydro MX series looks to be more robust for the long haul of next 30 years, verse GrandL.

Interesting that you are thinking 20 to 30 years out.

My timeframe is on increments of projects at hand and 5 year periods.

I think Kubota and most other big brands will be around for a long while, the tech though, wow....it changes yearly on these machines. Heck in 20 to 30 years you might just whistle up a tractor to come do something on your behalf and that's it....call, doing, done, returned. All while you watch from your favorite spot.

Jeepers... I hope not. I live for my tractor time, it let's me feel connected to the land; which is why I love my open stations.

The MX is the same front axle as the L series, just different gear ratio. So you can not put a MX front tire on a L series or vise versa

I'm deciding between the MX6000 and the L6060 as well (cab). I'm somewhat torn. My current tractor is a 20 year old JD 4300 (open station) so either one will be a huge upgrade.

I share your concern. $5k difference between the two tractors (41k vs 46k). I'm fine with paying more if the L is worth it. I went and sat in both last Friday and you can certainly tell the differences, mostly in the ergonomics. If I had never sat in the L6060 the M6000 would seem great.

I also hope that this tractor is a 20+ year investment so do wonder if the simplicity of the mechanical hydro is an actual plus of for the MX over the Grand L. Everyone else seems to give the plus to the Grand L HST.

My wife drives an Audi Q7 and there isn't a mechanical gauge on it. I have the same questions about it. Now I don't expect her to drive this for 20 years but I would like it to have some resale value 5-10 years.

I have an MX5800 Open Station with the Front Loader and Backhoe
When I do dirt work I can not keep all four tires from spinning.
I think there is plenty of HP for this Tractor any more would just be wasted.
But then again this is my first tractor that I have ever driven or even ridden on so My knowledge is very limited on how other tractors perform.
The MX series is a GREAT size tractor for my uses. Not to big that I can not maneuver around trees and bushes and not to small that I can not take trees down with it. The 1/3rd cu. yd. front bucket is GREAT for my uses as well.

Oh I forgot to add The Cup Holder. Yes the Cup Holder is just GREAT as well.
Maybe just maybe the best the VERY BEST selling point of my MX.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
