Safe to start?

I have a Massey Ferguson 205-4 normally I keep the stack covered, however the boys knocked the can off. We had a good rain so im sure water got in. Is it safe to try and start? If not what do I do

I can't imagine there would be much water in there, in a short time.

If you want to find out, you can remove the glow plugs, if it is a diesel, or spark plugs if it isn't, and crank it. That should pump it out.

If you think there is water in the cylinders try turning the motor over by hand and see if the engine locks up.
