Rural Weather...

I took this picture Sunday, June 16th 2002 at 11:15 AM. My nephew and I were working in the field getting ready to plant some grass seed. I thought it was an interesting picture since severe weather was never reported or predicted.

Wow Bill,

I've seen a lot a wacky looking clouds here in Missouri, but I've never seen anything like that !!! Anyone have a meteorlogical explaination of those clouds ???

I have never seen anything like that. Kind of ominous looking!

Luckily it was not heading towards me. What funny, is that I was like a "Deer in the headlights", I was so fascinated by the tornado that I was unable to take my eyes off of it! Seeing something like that in "real-life" gives an adrenaline rush similar to rappelling or other risky activity...

That first picture reminds me why I'm lookin' at underground dog houses. The second looks like a lenticular, except they are found way up on the lee side of a mountain range. Usually surrounded by sailplanes.
