My wife wanted a Run In for the horses with the idea that it could also used as a foaling stall for the mare that was due mid-June. The design was 20 by 12 feet with a 10 foot high front wall and 8 foot back wall. The first batch of photos shows the stack of rough cut for the framing and the layout to check my rafter design. The plan was to construct it in the back yard to keep the mare close to the house for the foaling then move it back in the paddock at a later date. To be able to move it I made the walls in sections and didn't plan on a finished roof while it was in the back yard.

Well the mare foaled early in her 12 by 12 stall on June 1st. This further delayed the project but I proceeded. Stay with me, my tractor does come into play. First batch of pictures was mid May. This batch was June 6. You can see the sectional design. If any one is really interested I can post my hand drawn plans as a PDF.

Basic framing completed. I screwed down some roof decking and used a tarp to give them shelter from sun and rain. A big C clamp closed this gap.

Board and batten siding. Amazing what you can fit in a horse trailer. There are extra battens to complete the barn.

I told you my tractor would be involved. The dirt covers it but there is some fill right in front of the pad, it was put in for the access road to dump fill for my pole barn. I put in a few tons of number 3 and 2 gravel. I might add crusher run later then put rubber mats on top.

Had to get the dead trees out before I moved the Run-IN
