Rounded off drain plug

Yep, and that's the great thing about this (and other TBN threads)... others can learn about other tools. That Knipex looks interesting.

I tried to keep my posts regarding fried1765's repeated calls for using a pipe wrench to a light-hearted banter. I guess we won't know until Kando finally gets around to doing it.

Pipe wrench? That sounds intriguing. Did I miss that post? Wagtail perhaps you could recap or offer an opinion?

Nothing to miss Mate. It's old technology used back 'in the day' before PVC pipe.

Today's tools can do what the pipe-wrench of old (unless, of course, you've got a "quality" one hanging from your peg-board)((gathering dust)) did, plus a whole lot more!

I never saw anything about using a pipe wrench either :confused3: Too bad no one suggested it, it could have shortened this thread considerably. :D

Old tech???

A pipewrench is still a VERY frequently used tool.

Perhaps not for the average homeowner....but still a staple in industrial trades. Millwrights, electricians, pipefitters, mechanics, etc.

Don't know what grudge you have against pipewrench so....perhaps you have never used a good one?

I am guessing they are just not as common down under.

You do understand the concept of tongue-in-cheek humour, don't you?

Same as my response to Big Barn. As was Big Barn's comment that I responded to.

Lighten up.

I've got two. I inherited them from my Father and I remember him having them in the 1940s. So they must be pre WWII

I thought the banter was FUNNY!

Anyone here expecting a serious discussion has come to the wrong thread at the wrong time.

That was the first few pages.

Why is that?..because a few idiot trolls (that only think they are funny) feel compelled to post childish garbage and babble on about post counts?
As a courtesy to others there are a few members that should be required to use a crayon font for their posts just as a heads up...

Why do you keep reading, if you find the thread so offensive? Short of driving out to Kando's house and helping him get the plug out there is nothing that any of us can accomplish at this point.

When posting you will not find the Crayon font in the drop down, I looked for you. So here is where you can buy real Crayons.

Geeze...figure it out already...it's not the thread that is offensive...it's the idiotic childish posts that suck...doh!

Topic drift about different tool usage etc is typical...stupid interjections by trolls are just obnoxious...

I find his comments rather ironic, as he is one of those most likely to get a thread moved or closed.

There are certain threads that are quite substantive, and land with a thud after a just few posts. There are others that seem to capture the interest of many, and carry on longer than one would expect. In the background there is still the matter of the subject at hand - removing a drain plug. Ultimately, we will learn the outcome.

In the meantime, there is room for some good-natured banter. Fortunately, Kando has a good sense of humor. Those who don't can always color :)

There's a big difference between topical funny stuff and stupid troll posts...

FYI...One of the funniest things I have ever heard, read or experienced was a reply to a post on a thread here on TBN...I have it saved as a screenshot as I knew it would be removed in short order as it was...

That's what we need... a tongue-in-cheek icon. Looking for one now.... :detective:
