The most important thing is adjusting the jaws for maximum squeeze.

If wrong the sliding jaw will hit the edge of the fixed jaw and quit squeezing.

Which is why I suggested the "Best Grip"... it squeezes itself with the 'jaws' of a pipe wrench.

Heck, even Fried can't complain as his "Ridged" manufacturer makes a version.

Next problem could be that as it's small now, then Kandy saying he is going to take off more to get some gripping edges and it's very tight that when the pipe wrench gets a good grip it just twist off the remaining metal. Then we will get 500 post on how to get it out with an easy-out, which size to use, best brand and what type of wrench to turn it with!
