"Same function"?
You can remove a seriously thread rusted coupling on a 2" dia. piece of galvanized steel water pipe with the Aussie "Best-grip"?
I think I gotta get an Aussie "Best -grip"
I don't see why I wouldn't be able to... along with the 'kit' (4 increasing sizes) I also bought a large one that would handle that size. The gripping principle is similar to that of a pipe-wrench without having to do the 'adjust the jaws' step.
A wee bit of 'your choice' of penetrating spray/oil prior to the job would always help.
The only/largest one (Aussie) that I can find shown on the internet is actually called "Better Grip", and is 16" long.
I think it very unlikely that any 16" long wrench, of any style, would separate an internally rusted coupling from a 2" pipe.
Is there a 24" or 36" long "Better Grip" model?
I just trudged out to the shed and measured the largest one that I bought and, yes, it's the 16". With the jaw fully open (spring loaded/tension) I could attach it to something 2.5". As to if there are larger ones, I don't know as I only purchased the largest that I could imagine ever using and I haven't used the 16" on anything yet. (But I have it! :laughingI have used a couple of the ones in the kit from time to time and they do work as advertised as a wrench/ratchet.

I'm sure the Germans say it using far less letters.schraubenschlüsel = wrench, and is composed of the words for "screw key", according to Google Translate.

This might help get us to 2000 ...
Here’s his test results. My experience is if you were to take those nuts off with a ratchet using any form of oil makes a BIG difference. I doubt there was much rust in the threads. It would have been interesting if he removed the nuts completely.View attachment 582363View attachment 582364
