So do I get an award for the 1000th post?

Who痴 the post count trolls?
well it makes me a hypocrite but I was referring to all the posts that had everything to do with increasing the post count but nothing to do with the topic...

What will be interesting is what happens to the thread (afterwards) if/when Kando confesses to getting the plug out and posting some pics...!

LoL...All the post count trolls are about to pee their pants...!

Well I think this is the first time someone mentioned Lol along with peeing. Up until now we have only had serious posts in this thread. Always a joker in the bunch :rotfl:

You should have saved that for Kando. Now he will have to wait for post 2000.

You all couldn't help yourself and blew it. #1000 was reserved for Kando to share his triumph!

Pipe wrenches still have no replacement and I don稚 know what you have against them.

Firstly, I really don't have anything against pipe-wrenches per-se. They are bulky and unbalanced for the angle that Kando needs to get at the stripped drain plug though. He's tried a pipe-wrench without success.

Secondly, you yourself (in self-confessed boredom) have demonstrated that a vise-grip or a Knipex should 'do the job'. Both of those more 'modern' tools lock onto the rounded surface and are lighter and a heck of a lot less bulkier when it comes to manoeuvring it into position.

I, myself, don't own a pipe-wrench as my set of Aussie "Best-grip" perform the same function... plus I can use them in a number of different situations including a ratcheting motion without having the readjust the jaw.

The vice grip had the worst grip of the 3 and didn’t hold very long before coming off. It was also the shortest of the 3 tools so despite using the same test it had the least to live up to. I’m pretty sure if I had a big enough cheater pipe I could have twisted the floor jack axel off with the pipe wrench. The Knipex isn’t a very tough looking tool and really isn’t designed for cheater pipe action.

That's fine.

As I said, my Aussie "Renovator" brand "Best Grip" (there are similar manufacturers out there) would work, is lighter and less bulkier plus could be used with a cheater. I'm not 'pushing' it as a be-all-to-end-all solution to Kando's problem but the tied-and-true, venerable, pipe-wrench has been tried and has not succeeded in his situation.

This thread, and many others on TBN, introduce new tools and products to many others.
