Are there any smaller bale (4x4) round balers that can be run with a 37 PTO HP tractor?
I only make hay on 10-20 acres a season for personal use. Thanks.

They are all the same baler with different decals and paint.

They make a 39" x 52" bale

Think they called for 30 PTO HP minimum.

You can likely run some 4x4 balers, the NH 630 I run calls for 35 PTO HP. I'd have no concerns making 20 acres a year with it and 37 PTO HP.

However they will run on less. I am running a Hesston 4550 std square baler with 26.5 PTO hp

I ran a Vermeer Rebel 5400 4X5 baler with a John Deere 1070 for years. It struggled a little on steep slopes with a full bale but we were baling around 160 acres twice per year. Same tractor ran a New Holland 9 ft haybine just fine if you took your time. That tractor was rated for 39 engine/35 pto HP. You may have better luck finding a 4X5 baler if you are looking used

Saw a JD 4 x 4 baler go at auction today that would have been perfect for you. Can’t remember the bid but it was low because that size is not popular here.

We run a Ford 552 (Gehl 1500 in blue paint, makes 5x5 string tied bales) behind our L3830. It gets worked HARD when you are going uphill and finishing a bale, but otherwise it handles it just fine.
