Nice.. let's you get into the "zen" mowing routine. I like wide open spaces for cutting, not so much backing and constant turns. Just mowed 15 acres here, usually takes about 7 hours with a 5 foot cutter.

You must really be moving or the grass must not be that high...I mow about 15 acres and it usually takes me about 12 hours but it is about 3 to 4 feet high when I cut and I use a 5 foot bush hog as well.

The grass isn't that dense in most places, weedy though. I usually mow that field in 1-high, just fast enough to get a decent cut and not get shaken to death.

Sean, that explains it ..mine it really thick in quite a few areas, about 5 acres of it are thick - really thick and I cut in 3rd gear and #2 speed. I will be posting my pics in a few weeks since I have to tackle it soon..

Actually on that farm, we have a mix of open and really tight places that I have to creep through watching the cab clearance as well as the trailing pull type 10'6" cutter. We also have some ponds to mow around, so those open spaces sure are a pleasant change.

Pretty neat pics Electrarc. Australia looks like the last frontier...one of the few places left. On some of those slopes and fields, can't they be burned? Seems you could disk a firebreak and pick your day to burn.

On your tractor...the seat rotates around? How does the steering wheel and controls rotate. Never seen anything like that...

Builder...That's a serious bushhog. 3 spindles. How wide is it?

It's an 8' twin spindle John Deere MX8.
Middle box is a power divider.

Dave...I burnt a lot of land this year but the rains came early, so I have to cut this slope. I will make a small video on turning the operators position around. It only takes seconds.....Love it.
