I have a woods 72" RC. Our ground is uneven with ups and downs. Tractor goes up a small mound, RC goes down and vice versa when tractor descends a mound. Is there a good way to have the RC follow the terrain better??

Yes,use a length of chain instead of toplink[heavier chain,with connectors of some kind on each end that your pins that hold top link on go through],set it up the height you want to cut and leave a little slack in chain,won't be able to pick it up as far,and be aware of the fact that if front of hog catches ground or a stump or something rear wheel could come up,so I 'd just do this on fairly known ground with height set up to about 6 inches or so. Just try it and play with it a little and you'll know why I've been cutting like that for 7-8 years now.

You don't even need a top link except to raise it.

A shackle will work for the connection. I have a bunch of these in different sizes.

Do you have the float set up right on the toplink? Check your manual for the correct setup or post a picture of your setup for some feedback. There should be some float for valleys and mounds or damage can occur.

greenmule is right. Using a chain for the toplink is the only way to go on hilly ground. It will also let the wheel roll over stuff better.

So basically a length of fairly heavy chain as long as typical toplink length with clevises on both ends to replace toplink. Sounds easy enough. Thanks.

Thats right,make it longer than top link by a bit,you can adjust it by just moving clivis to next link. Play with it a little on smooth ground,try just running with out top link[or chain, a little so's you'll know whats going on.
