Hi,

I'm getting tired of having to put the folding ROPS up and down when using my B7500 in order to get it out of the garage. After ripping the bottom of the garage door down a couple of times I never foget to do this... Since I now realize that I have no intention on getting a back-hoe, I wish I had gone with the fixed ROPS from the beginning.

Has anyone change from the folding to fixed ROPS? How much
work is it to make the change? Also, any idea on the price of the fixed ROP? My dealer could not find the part listed in his directory.

Thanks.

AC,

Excuse me, I hope I'm not being dense! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

You say that <font color=blue>"After ripping the bottom of the garage door down a couple of times I never foget to do this... "</font color=blue> you wish that you had gone with the fixed ROPS.

If you've ripped out the bottom of the garage door, why would you want a fixed ROPS?? /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif Wouldn't that rip out the bottom of the garage door too? And if you do really want a fixed ROPS, why not just leave the folding ROPS up?

I think either I missed something here, or you forgot to include some information, or like I said earlier, I'm just dense!

Sorry, I didn't provide enough information.

The foldable rops are quite a bit taller and wider than the fixed rops, which allows you work with a back-hoe if necessary. The added height is one of the reasons they are designed to fold.

The height of the b7500 with fixed rops would fit under a standard, opened garage door.

Thanks for clearing that up. I never realized that, or at least never really paid any attention to it. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

I'm sorry I can't help you with your original question, but wait a minute or two, and someone here will get you some info.!/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Yep, the dealer talked a friend of mine into getting the folding ROPS when he bought his JD. He got it home and the ROPS is about an inch too tall to make it into the garage. He could've made it with standard one without the hassle of folding it down. I've told him he should get a price on swapping it but he never has. I had 8' doors installed on my new house and haven't had to fold mine thankfully, but I've got less than an inch to spare. No canopy /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

IF you were closer I'd do an even trade with you. Would be nice to have the folding one.

Go talk to yur dealer, he will probably do a trade with you for even or near even. As hard as we try to talk people out of the folders, they always want 'em, so when we have a rigid ROPS model on the lot, we are usually happy to trade for an undamaged folder. They are easy to change; 2 bolts on each side, and there is no excuse for a dealer who cannot provide the price of a new rigid ROPS. Also, all of the rigid ROPS from the old B7300, 1700,2100. and 2400 are compatible, so if your dealer has a used one sitting around (the 7300's are getting pretty common) he would probably trade...we would. Yep, this is a perfect example of buying more than you need and then regretting it. I remember back where you chose the B7500 cuz it was available with a folding ROP over the BX2200 with a fixed ROP. Yep, the lower BX with a fixed ROP is the better choice for most with needs similar to yours--however---now that ya got yourself that beautiful 7500 I bet your Kubota dealer would do a switch out for you at minimal cost. I think you will like the fixed ROP best--I do--on both my 2410 and my BX. Good luck--hope it works out for you, I know it will. J

Does anyone know what the height of the BX2200 is from the ground to the top of the ROPS?

I took my non-folding ROPS off right after my B7500 was delivered. If it is just a simple matter of bolting it on, and you want to pay shipping, I'll swap even up........chim
