I built a rock bucket, There is 3" between the pipes. I used 1 1/4" OD, 1/4" wall pipe, The loader bit is 3/4 x 4". There was a lot of welding on this project. I used my ESAB 250 AMP wire welder. I have several pic's to show off a little.

Now for the test, here is a pile of dirt and rock and concrete. I needed to save the dirt and haul off the crap.

In the pile and lift, the dirt was very mellow so it fell right though

The rock pile is not near as big as before. The dirt raised my work area about 2'. I am pleased to say the least

Your projects are always creative & inspiring.
Goes to show, when you put your mind to it.......
Would you mind giving us some detail on the materials used ??
Thanks for sharing your projects

I'm not as talented as you, so I bought one of these two days ago. I'm waiting for my quick-attach plate and adapter for my tractor, so it may be a couple of weeks before I get to check it out.

I'm curious why you put the cutting edge along the front instead of letting the tines stick out a few inches? I can tell from your pictures that your bucket works very well, but I'm just curious about the tines.

Very nice job. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks every one /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I needed one to but could not afford a factory unit. I got about $250 in it.
I put the cutting edge out front to support the pipe. I did not think the pipe would be strong enough alone, since I am into concrete chunks a lot I know they would bend quick.
Materials used
about 100' of 1 1/4" x 1/4" wall pipe
I used 1/4" plate for the sides and gussets
3/4" x 4" loader edge
I bought a skid steer mounting plate to attach to the loader
Used 2" x 4" x 1/8" tubeing between the mounting plate and bucket.
I guess about 2 miles of .35 wire from the welder.
It is 72 1/2" wide x 36" deep x 2' tall
I need to weigh it, it is heavy.

DDT- very nice job. looks great.
I am envious.

I would either like to make one like your but add a grapple to mine would help or buy what JINMAN did and add the grapple.
I would like a rock bucket & a grapple bucket & think one in the same would be great. Just remove the grapple if not needed.
I could hae used both this week already.

decisions decisions.
the rock bucket JINMAN bought is a good one. I have researched them & that is a real good one.
If I am not prying, what did that set you back JinMAN?
THANKS

Jim are you going to add a grapple to that rock bucket? That would be a nice project. Great looking bucket by the way!
