A suggestion BEFORE you put down the underlayment. Get the peel & stick and put it down before you shingle. Comes in 3' widths just like felt and rols on like a dream. Even Katrina couldn't pull this stuff up!!! You will NEVER be unhappy that you chose that over regular felt. Particularly if you are using OSB for your decking. It provides a self sealing attribute for the nails. I use it on EVERY single job of mine that invloves roof or deck replacement and needs a GOOD moisture barrier.

If you haven't already bought your materials I would suggest doing so ASP. Just think of all the damage to be repaired south of you...
