that's what I was thinking noticed a forrestry truck parked with a dozer and plow had the same type of metal on bed.That is why low mileage and looked fairly good shape from the picture.
Still is cheaper to rent the truck and driver for one day trips. now if every day travel probally different.

A good tip on an 8.2 detroit is when you go to test it before its even run pull the oil plug and have a cup under it. Make sure no fuel or antifreeze is on the bottom of the oil pan. a friend of mine just wen through this let a line put toom uch fuel in the crank case and ruin it. They are great engines otherwise.

Nope, part of the problem. The trailers are "free". All of the insurance is on the trucks. No fondness or sentimental reasons for sticking with what I have, but last time I got renewals, everyone was in the same ballpark.

From earlier you said these were " <font color="blue"> It's a public sale coming up in about a week." </font> Is that different than an auction ? I wouldn't get hung up on <font color="blue"> they said the bed alone was worth 7-10K </font> See what the rollback units go for before you settle on something that would be adequate, but not quite as desirable. You could always start running stuff around for other people and make some of your money back.
We have one of these units (joint pilot program w/forestry) at the volunteer firehouse. The reason the miles are low is because it sits, loaded, waiting for a fire. Only got used half a dozen times last year, 0 so far this season. The truck and dozer get started once a month to make sure they will.

It's kind of a rolling sale different vehicles coming up weekly sold on the web. I am just local and been looking at the dozers and trucks.

I found out yesterday you have to have a commercial truck license to operate these - over 24k GVW - these seem to be 28k GVW.

Roll backs seem to be bringing $10-14K, Dove tails - $4-7K.
