Interesting idea, IMO....

Of course if you can fab and weld, you could (presumably) build something to mate with the MMM pickup points, then fill with the ballast of your choice. I can weld (still learning) but have no fabbing skills. I bet 4shorts could whip one up before breakfast! (No sarcasm here--just admiration for his skill, ingenuity and energy).

My Hoe

Well thank you very much for the vote of confidence. I really appreciate that

I didn't use rim gard, I used the pink RV anti freeze. It is available locally at Walmart, and if on sale less than 2 dollars a gallon. I don't know about the weight difference, but it does great with the blower or blade on the front. I can lift a full bucket of dirt with the FEL and it don't seem to be squirley. I also have a pair of (don't laugh) Craftsman wheel weights that add 55 pounds per tire ($10 on craigslist). If I need weight for ballast I'll hook up to an implement like a box blade or tiller. I did buy a cargo rack at Harbor freight for 40 dollars and have cement blocks on it, but you need the draw bar receiver hitch to use it and they are quite expensive.
