The fact that they are back ordered my very well tell you that they are junk.
The fact that they are back ordered my very well tell you that they are so good the factory only made 3 extra's and you got all three.
The fact that inventory costs money to support it, and bean counters have jumped on that with both feet may mean they just don't stock a large amount of surplus parts. I think I would get ahold of a couple more large dealerships and see if they have that part in stock.
I have never walked into my local dealership and walked out with a part in hand. They don't stock anything for my tractor. I stopped by there for a pto seal a couple days ago, nothing!

of course the dealer doesn't have it , but the Rhino WAREHOUSE is out.
meaning EVERYONE doesn't have one.
Yep, not a problem here, move along, nothing to see.

With an open eye, compare the tailwheel on a rhino to a bushhog, the difference is notable to the naked eye.

Why would New Holland stock Rhino parts? It is up to the dealer to get the parts from Rhino or their Rhino distributer.

Are you just mowing a level field and you look back and out of the BLUE the back tailwheel is bent ? Three times? Could it be you wish you had bought Bush Hog and need to justify selling the Rhino ,my Rhino is 6 years old and I let my neighbor borrow it and have had no problems.
One more suggestion go to the Antique Tractor web site and ask the farmers if Rhinos are giving them a problem just a thought. MD

Hey Brian, these guys are kinda tough on a working stiff trying to make his equipment pay for itself. I got a deal on a 7' montana brand, not sure who makes it for them. Been a good mower this year other than i'm bending the tw same as you. Gopher holes have been giving me fits, i've had to straighten it twice and it needs it again. Not blamin the mower, but i can gurantee that next season it won't be bending there again, probably just transfer the load and bend something more expensive, oh well. It sure does cut nice though.
I also have a tilt bed that i use, 22' and I haven't yet had the priviledge of seeing it bend there. i do know that if i'm not parked level it can put a heck of a load on the tw even with the top link pulled in all the way. sure hope you get your tractor problems worked out, downtime is a killer. this was my year for it also. good luck and i'm sure nh will make it right for you. Some people should just stay away from machinery.

Isn't that the truth Kim. Thank goodness for people like Lc, fwj, myself and several others who are willing to take a financial and physical risk to help control fire danger and noxious weed problems caused by the urbanization of rural areas. At least in our area it can be very stressful on equipment Some of the places people have built houses and then want the weeds and brush cut cause of fire danger is pretty unbelievable.
3 out of 3 bent tw's would also tell me that the equipment can't handle the environment i'm working in, I don't think I would go so far as calling the whole mower junk but the tw sure is for the application he's using it for. In this day and age odds are some bean counter decided with the high price of steel that tw would be a good place to save some cash. Still plenty strong for 95% of users. I'm also having tw trouble but just accept it, It will be modified this fall and hopefully that annoyance will be solved. Probably built in the same shop.
After 20 some years of being a custom operator i know that when things start breaking it goes in streaks. One thing after another and it gets real old when you realize you've wasted a year of your life just to keep the parts man in business and if there's any cash left over you count your blessings. Brian will tough it out and hopefully next year he'll be so busy making money that he won't have the time to post, other than to tell how good everything is working. As was said, some people shouldn't be around equipment.

A good point that the internet can't fix, is the different conditions that each of us put our equipment thru compared to the next. Lack of maintance excluded, the conditions that LoneCowboy puts his equipment thru compared to what equipment in this end of the world is subjected to is probably completely different. Here the sand takes it's tole on this, and out there I am sure probably the rocks in the soil probably take a heavier tole. We don't have much for gophers, but we do have some golpher turtles although they are rapidly approaching extintion.
If I backed a mower off a trailer and miscalculated something, I am sure the sand would give enough to take some of the shock out of it. I also figure that the rocky soil wouldn't give a bit, and something needs to give.
These factors also come into play when an engineer trys to build things, especially at minimal expense to stay competitve and why so many people are happy with their equipment and some just think it is junk.
How it adapts to your world is definitely how you grade it, not how it adapts to other users needs.

But the big difference here is, that my bushhog brand cutter (a MUCH cheaper version) hasn't bent one yet. (and I know I've backed into stuff with it)

But is the Bush Hog the same length? That can make a huge difference in how much leverage gets exerted on that tailwheel when you load/unload.
