( 1*This wrecnh will work fine on filters that have a notched end but if the edge of the filter is round and smooth at the end you can't use it.
You need a claw type wrench that has 3 fingers to remove the round smooth end filters.
I got mine at Auto Zone for under $8.oo.
BTW Kubota uses both style Filters. )

I don't have any problem using this flat strap wrench on any filters. If I find one that is particularly tight and the strap starts to slip, I just put a small piece of sandpaper under the strap and no more slipping. A good mechanic knows how to use tools to there fullest ability. A mediocre one just goes to Auto Zone and buys another tool because he doesn't know how to "think outside of the box".

( Yep, I agree Junkman. I have 6 oil changes on my bx and everyone of them was easy. Sometimes it's the unknown that makes people a little nervous about the maintenance. So all you guys out there looking forward to youur 50 hour service, It's a peice of cake. Take your time the first time through and
1*make notes of wrench sizes so it will go even faster the next time. )

1*I might add make sure you have all the tools and equipment out and lined up to do the job before you ever start.
This includes hand tools filter wrenches funnels rags and or paper towels. etc.

You might also want to drive the tractor up on two by sixes or 2 by eighths stacked 2 or 3 high.

It's surprising what another 3 to 4.5 inches of clearance under the tractor can do to help out with doing the job.

When I did mine I used several 3/8 drive socket handles and 3/8 drive extensions set up for each drain plug and filter.
It saved a lit of time in switching sockets and extensions around and around and back and forth.

He could also do a search under my name and read the post where I told about doing the service on my BX23.
