Releasing stuck hood

A little WD40 about once a year seems to keep mine working pretty well.

Most tractor hoods appear to be 'flexible flyers', my M9's are no exception. I keep the mechanism well oiled and I'm careful not to slam it down.

I got it open. A log had hit the hood just right and bent thing up. I am using a bungee cord to hold it now.

I will see what the parts cost to repair the damage but I fear ur will nor be cheap.

Try your local bump shop. I had a coup0le huge dents in the hood of my M9 open station when I bought it and had the local bump shop in Carleton, Michigan repair and repaint it and it was very reasonable, like under 200 bucks and it looks like new. I did also have to buy a new grill and latch mechanism but I got that at cost from my dealer where I work part time. Even replaced the decals. You'd never know the previous owner had a boo-boo.

I did remove the hood myself and take it to them. Kubota hoods are really easy to remove. There is an orange plastic plug button near the operators station and you remove that, take a small screwdriver and slide the overlapping collar to the side and it comes right off. Of course you have to remove the front strut as well and that had a spring clip attachment. Think the grill and the decals were under 200 bucks as well.
