Reflective cab roof

Has anyone put a foil like reflective roof on their cab to ease the strain on the a/c? Or do ya'll think it will even help?

I think it would work great. Or paint it white. I used to have a white and a black peterbilt. You wouldnt believe the difference in the temp of cab when getting in them midday when neither had been used that day.

A few years ago, Took my son to the National Trap course with his team. HOT, HOT, HOT it was. Took some Vinyl Siding core board (3/8 Styrofoam with reflective mat on one side) and attached to the black roof on the Mule 3510 Transport to haul the kids to the shooting stations that were mile long. Temperature was 10 to 15 degrees cooler under the roof with the board strapped on the top.

Just a thought. What about spray on insulation, the type that comes in a can? BTW, I've never used it, but I've heard of it. Best wishes.

It works for the car winshield things. A light coloured roof or reflective material would be best. The grey roof on the Massey is alredy pretty good.

Also helps you be spotted from space if you go reflictive.

First Tint the windows. It doesn't have to be dark to work. You could also install a head liner out of that foil backed foam mentioned in a previous post

Don't spray any foam in your cab. I have used lots of that stuff and, while it does work great, it is very messy and next to impossible to get off if it gets on anything you dont want it on

Check these out, use them anytime I replace a cab roof liner or headliner in a car. One winter I did all the interstate mowers at work then tinted the windows. Guys complained that it would get to cold in the cabs after that.

Be careful with the foam insulation if you use your tractor near any burn piles etc. It doesn't take much to light it up and get burned by it melting and spattering.
