Hi all, I just purchased a 2016 6.4 liter Dodge Ram 3500 dump truck. I own a bar/restaurant that I'll have to plow and would like suggestions as to what plow and what size to look for. I was thinking a V plow in the 9' area. Would like to hear from your experience. Thanks.

We use a Meyer 7.5ft blade on our snow truck to clear 3.6 miles of road. Has worked great for 14 years now.

That is the way I would go. The scoop feature is nice for commercial plowing to move snow out of unwanted areas, like parked cars, in a lot. You want the wider plow so that when in scoop or v you are outside of tire tracks. Consider poly plow to keep front end weight down and they tell be snow won't stick to them. V is nice for the first pass down road or drive so that you don't get pushed side ways. Depending on who you talk to, v plow will cut plowing time by 1/2 to a 1/3. Personally I would say strong 1/2.

Time is money and a v-plow is fast, much faster than a straight blade. I ran a Blizzard 810 power plow for 8 years, the one with extendable wings. It was a huge time saver not having to chase snow all over the place. The downside is the initial price and extra breakage compared to straight blade plows.

Good luck , Fred
