Recomendations on this welder

You are about 45 minutes from me. You can run up and run one yourself.

I purchased a real gear 140 from Praxair & have been quite satisfied with the proformance of the unit . I also own a lincoln 140 & i like the realgear 140 better Shadow753

Talked to a sales rep @ Everlast and was offered a ST160 straight 220V Stick machine for $300 to my door.

Any opinions on this unit for basic repair and fab around the farm?? :confused3:

Personally I wouldn't talk to anybody but Mark! Mark knows is welding!
Do you need the 120-volt option? If not see what Mark can do for you with a PA-200. That is one sweet machine for the money:cool2:. It runs 6010 every bit as nice as my Lincoln Short hoods, and 7018 every bit as nice as my Lincoln Red face machines. Buddy of mine borrowed my PA-200 to rework a hay clamp, he used a 50-feet long 10-GA extension cord, ran one 5/32-inch 7018 after another for hours. He said the extension cord never got warm.:shocked:

It was a 200 st I think or a 160 st...but not the deluxe sth

An inverter is also a lot more portable and even better, it won't need as big of a generator to run it out in the field. From what I've seen, an inverter from Everlast is a lot cheaper than a Stickmate AC/DC, has a higher duty cycle and is overall a much better machine.
