Rear finish mower

I open up my large areas with my Riding Mower 18 hp Husqvarna YTH1848XP. Around the trees and perimeter then I go back with my LandPride AT2672 72" pull behind finish mower deck and finish the rest. Seldom do I have to look back. And the more you mow the areas the less you will need to.

For me the biggest trick is to go around trees closely with a RFM without looking back. Turn the wheels to the right the mower goes left and turn the wheels to the left the mower goes right. It takes a little practice but can be done with a cursory glance back to one side. Then off you go to the races again.

A mid-mount is easier when a bunch of trees are involved or trees are close together.

So far I only skinned a tree or two with the RFM, but I also skinned them with the mid-mount on a smaller tractor. Can't win.

Kevin, I use my JD zero turn under low trees after a cut with the RFM. I don't even waste time trying to back under trees.

Rick,
I agree, I don't have a zero turn but by making one or two passes around the trees with the Husqvarna I don't ever do the back up thing with the RFM. There are times when it is so wet that I won't use the CUT and RFM because of the sink and ruts. So then it is just sit on the Husqvarna and mow. That is when I am glad I am retired and got the time. I have already cut most of the trees up to where the CUT ROPS won't get hit but some of the bushes well you either would have to do the back in thing or do it with the Husqvarna.

When my ZT blades are ready to sharpen or replace I cut under trees in pastures as well. Almost like having a 60" bush hog.
