Rant on shipping

The driveway is about 1000' long. UPS left this delivery about half way down next to a tree. Maybe he thought we had a treehouse.

Seems Fedex hired another scavenger hunt driver.

Had a thumb delivered and left about 6 feet into the shared road, by the main road 600' from my house, next to some trash about to go out.
This is why I put every fedex item on email alert. So I can run up and down the shared road and main road to find whatever they left.
Have had them drop in my back yard, side yard, at my neighbors house up the road in the snow etc.
Had a good driver for a while that left packages on my front stoop, miss that driver.

Fedex asked for my feedback on the delivery that would now be in the dump if I hadn't been home.
They got my feed back!

You might want to consider a job box for them to drop parcels in. Mine works fairly well, except for one UPS driver who can’t seem to read, and keeps leaving things on the porch.

I got the idea from the rural route in southwest Idaho, that my Grand Parents ranch was on. The Mail route was up the highway, and back. The ranch house driveway was about six miles long. So all the folks on the ranches had big toy box like things up by the highway, next to or behind their mail box to leave packages in that were too big for the mail box.

I’m at work all day, and fairly often out of town for a week or so during the summer. Living rural you do a lot of purchasing on the internet. (I’d do more local, but it seems several of the stores have exclusive deals with their vendors, and can’t order off Amazon and tack 15% on that cost. So, Amazon gets the business.)

I have a combination lock on the job box I have out by the mail box, and have entered the combination as the gate code in all the delivery guys systems. So, they can unlock my box, put in the package, and then relock the box. Been set up for five years, and I haven’t lost a package yet.

We have an open driveway.Sometimes they just don't bother to drive up it.

Most often the deliveries simply get dumped or attached to my garbage bin.
Scary if that's on a garbage pick up day.
When I expect a parcel I check for a few days then have to drive to the local drop off location to see if it was left there. Also never seem to get notices as to go to the drop off which indicates he never even came to my address.
Only the post office is dependable now days and I even signed a document to allow the postie to sign for me.

Don't expect prompt delivery of anything made in China. Shanghai is almost shut down because of the radical Covid lockdowns. Factories all over China are closed. They are running way behind on vaccination rates, and it's getting away from them.

Well to add to my shipping rant thread -
I've a sump pump failing. So I ordered a Zoeller sump pump M63 from Lowes on April 17th. Was originally supposed to be in by last Friday April 22nd. Whoops, delayed.
Finally got shipped the 24th and was delivered to the blasted local store April 26th at 11:03 AM. Still not ready for pickup April 27th @2100.

Amazon or someone recently lost a package with several items in the same order & box. I gave it about 10 days before requesting a refund thinking it might turn up. The Amazon process was a little annoying as I had to request a refund one by one, not for all the items in the same package.

That would be annoying. You placed the order all at once, should be able to file a loss the same way.
What I find frustrating is when I order 5 things and it comes in 5 packages. I understand why, but in winter I have things shipped to a receiving point and it costs me 3$/package... after driving there.

Maybe I missed an easier way on Amazon. What I really would have preferred was a method to cancel & reorder everything with a couple of mouse clicks, not start over.

Call, and speak with an agent. That is what I do. The number is a bit hard to find, but it is under customer service.

And it took 30 minutes at Lowes Custumer dis-service to find that out.

Well it's delivery day and has not left the origination facility.
Guess the package got destroyed and they don't want to admit it.
Called Fedex and they have "no idea" what happened.
