clean your tip and set the regulators until you have a 12 inch long feather when you pull the O2. It needs to be fine and long.

I'm about one step above a hack when it comes to torch work, but this is how I set my torch to cut. In my opinion cutting with a torch is just like welding with a Mig welder, you have to find that sweet spot. Most people push the oxygen lever all the way down. Every torch is different but I generally find the sweet spot by only pushing the oxygen lever an 1/8 to 1/4 inch.

Even cutting something like that in that thick of steel with my plasma cutter will leave some beveling that would need cleaning up with a dremmel tool.

Plasma swirl patterns create different bevels whether going clockwise or counter-clockwise. Not a big issue to clean up though.

Now if you really want a clean cut...bundle up a few Million $$ and get yourself a nice laser cutter cnc...HA:laughing:
