You might want to consider the Jinma or Foton tractors to save quite a buy of money. They specialize in gear tractors.

Four Wheel Tractor/ China Tractor / Farm Tractor / HuangHai Jinma Tractor
Foton Tractor Sales

Much of the Korean tractors have a lot of Chinese parts in them so you might as well look at these brands as well.

I am willing to look at a Korean tractor if I have a local dealer or if major manufactures are willing to sub out their tractors to them. CNH was willing to do this with LS and I have a local dealer. The ones you suggest can't meet either requirement. Beside they look like the old rural king specials. I have John Deere, case ih, new holland, kubota, kioti, Branson, caterpillar & LS all within an hours drive.

Don't mind Tom Seller, he's just a useless troll who isn't capable of making worthwhile, non inflammatory posts.

As for the EZ shift, there are very few numbers that use one. I have not heard any rave reviews about it, and my dealer won't even stock them because he is not a fan of the system.

Having owned a shuttle shift before, I really don't see much benefit to adding the EZ setup.

Thanks tso. How do you like your 4047 I see its a hydro. But everything should be laid out the same. How is the ergonomics of the tractor.

There are things that I would move, or change in minor cosmetic ways... But overall it's designed pretty well. I sat on lots of different tractors when I was shopping and I wish I could take a little bit of something from all them, and combine them into one tractor.

But with that said, I'm still very happy with the product. I had a 4041 shuttle for a short time, and traded it in for the 4047 hydro, & I am way happier having the hydro. To each his own regarding the transmission, but I will never own another shuttle over a hydro, unless it's a much larger agricultural tractor designed and used just for grounding engauging large-scale purposes.

I know on paper I am losing about 3 HP with the hydro versus the shuttle, but in reality I don't notice that. I can pull my very heavy duty 8 foot back blade with a full load of whatever, and usually do it in medium range. Before you make the decision, sit on all the tractors that you can, and also get a little experience playing with a hydro, give it about 15 to 30 minutes at least, you may like it!

As for LS, they make nearly all components in their own own factory. My tractor has been flawless, and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Good luck.

Tom I am not interested in a Chinese tractor, I need something I can put 400 hours a year on or more and last for 7-8 years.

Local dealer doesn't have any on lot and doesn't know if he will order one unless it is sold before hand because he says its too hard to sell tractors around here. So that leaves me window (internet) shopping. I have a few questions for some of ya'll. How high does the rops fold and do they unbolt at the top of the fenders as the Case IH looks like they do. Case and New Holland dealers don't stock these tractors either. they have 35's and 30's but no 50's. I have height restrictions in poultry houses. Plus, how high does tractor set can you slouch and duck to get under 6 feet on height. A 4120 John Deere will work but is an extra 10-12K over these machines. I don't feel green paint is worth it but if that is the way I must go then I will. John Deere keeps at least 4x20 series tractor in stock.

The Jinmas will easily last that long but that's fine if you don't want to save a truckload. Then I would go with the JD you mention, you almost always get your money back out of the tractor when you go to sell a JD, or Kubota for that matter.

I have seen very few folks on TBN with a JINMA that would buy another one. Many have engine failures at less than 400 hours.

He doesn't really pay attention to what anybody says, so don't bother trying reason. He also refuses to answer when asked where he's getting "facts", or is proven wrong. Unfortunately, that doesn't really help anyone trying to make an informed decision.....guess some folks don't care that they might be misleading folks.
