How many of you use a "Quick Hitch" of some sort for their 3 Point attachments? If so what brand.

Thanks

I use JD's I-Match. If you search you will find THOUSANDS of post's about quick-hitches, it can be a hotly debated topic!

I'll admit I was one of them "real men don't need QH's" . Well, you know the rest of the story. I got mine from Harbor Freight. The implements are all gonna have to get the top hook connection height adjusted by relocating the bolt hole, but totally worth the effort. Now, I'm into energy conservation, Mine! There's one places it just won't work without some heavier modifications is with my JD 415-16 two bottom plow. The top link connection looks offset to one side. I just used the "other" tractor that doesn't have the QH. Also looks like connecting the PTO shaft is a bit more work when attaching the tiller or mower, 'cause I have reach under or around the "U-Frame" of the QH. I'm in the process of building a house so being able to just snap on to the implement and go is a great convience. bjr

I too bought the JD i-match. I just plain got tired of wrestling my 600 pound chipper onto the back of my tractor. Now i just back up to it (or any other implement), raise the i-match, turn around in my seat to lock it in, and drive away. Only reason to get off the seat is to hook up the pto shaft. I can see where a hydraulic top link will be handy with any quick hitch. I have had to slightly modify some of the implements to work with the i-match, as the hole for the top link doesn't always line up. I always make them "backward compatible", so that if i needed to, the implement can always be used with a standard 3 pt . That way if if i need to loan something to my BIL, or sell an implement, its not a problem.

P.S. I 've seen where JD is coming out with an i-match that also hooks into the pto without getting off the tractor. Could that actually work????

They look like a simple design, is one really better than another? I see them from $79-$400 bucks????

Thanks

Though i spent real money on my i-match, i'd steer you to the HF hitch for about seventy dollars. It will do all my i-match will, for about a third of the money. Do a search here for them, and read pages and pages of posts by happy HF hitch owners. I believe the problems with the early ones have been ironed out long ago

Harbor Freight can't be beat! I did have to set up a couple of my attachments to the proper width but it's all good now! Back up lift and throw the handles down all without getting off the tractor!

I went with Pat's EZ hitch which requires attaching the top link, but their is an advantage too. Especially if you have varying implement lift pin widths like I do. Some are CAT I and others are CAT II. Pat's spreads out or in like your drag links do....just an alternative to think about.
If your implements are all the same width, and I-match or HF unit will be great.

I have the JD Imatch on my 3320 and only two implements so far,the MX5 brush cutter and a Frontier box blade, but it is sure nice and makes life a lot easier. MH

I use the Speeco from TSC, about $200. I had to modify all my attachments to work with it, but some were very easy to add a hole, etc. One of the best things about the QH, whichever brand you use, is that you can tighten up your side-sway chains or turnbuckles on your 3-pt, and they can stay tight, you no longer have to mess with them each time you unhook/rehook. This alone save a lot of messing around, even if you have to get off the tractor to hook up with the QH (and often you can stay on the tractor).

I just picked up one from Harbor Freight. They are on sale at $69.95. Haven't tried it yet, but it appears to have been built in the same place as the TSC for $201.00.

I just tried my HF Hitch and am very disappointed, overall finish and workmanship I was pleased with for a 69 dollar unit but it does not work with my GB72 Woods box blade. The lower hooks arnt wide enough to even fit into the slots where my pins are on the blade like 1/2" atleast:( The top bracket where the hook is doesnt work either but in the directions it does say you may have to use a "Adapter Bracket" which of course is not provided, lol. So maybe the old saying is true you get what you pay for, lol. So overall my quick hitch experience isnt all that good.

It did hook up to my tractor rather easily its just it wont hook up to my blades or rake??? So im not sure what im gonna do return it or "modify" it, haha.

I got the Harbor Freight one, it was $99, I told the guy it had been on sale for $79, he gave it to me for $79; went back today to check on top mount, it was on sale for $69, told the guy they owed me $10 - he refunded me my $10!!

Now, see my post about how to hook up the dang thang!! I cain't get the top hook to work..

Well I ended up spending 2 hours or so beating grinding torching my quick hitch to get it to work fairly decent, im still not 100% happy with it but I figure I can adjust some more.
