quick hitch question.

I purchased a quick hitch from harbor freight, and it will not fit into my box scraper. The Box is a Cammond, that I got from a JD dealer many years ago.
The hitch is 27 1/2.
Anyone have one similar and can let me know if it is the hitch or the Box that is the issue, and how would you fix it?

I would guess that the box is the problem.

Actually, that is the problem with those quick hitches. They "assume" that all the implements are the same. And most are NOT.

Not to mention the issues with the big toplink hook on them quickhitches. That wont work on most older implements either.

Newer stuff has an offset TL to make it QH compatable.

Plus things like the John Deere I-match system.

How far off is it? If the blade pins are a little too narrow, you can always use a longer pin or shim them out. If it doesnt work on your other implementsm your best bet is to return it, and get something like the pats easy hitch system. Or the hooks from carter.

I went through the same thing with the quick hitch from Harbor Freight, and I believe that similar ones will give you the same problem. In fact, NONE of my implements would work with it. Too bad because it was fairly inexpensive...but...if it doesn't work, they could give it to me for free and it would not be worth it. After I took it back I bought a Pats system, and have never looked back. Check it out, you'll be glad you did. Cheapest place I found them was at Agri Supply, and it came with the stabilizer/spacing bar. Good luck!

Join the club. I ran into the same thing only more. The problem with box blades is they have a pin support on both sides. Solved, I ground 1/4" off each side of the bottom hooks and it fits great now. But the top hook was too close to the adjustment bolts. Solved, cut the hook off and welded in a 3/4" spacer to put the hook out away from the bolts. Next the bottom pins on the tractor side were 3/4" not the standard 7/8". Solved, bored out the holes and put in the right pins. Now the HF does not come with the bushings to increase the size of the pins to match the hooks. Solved, bought bushings from a Land Pride dealer. Now I have a $400+ quick hitch for less than $200. HF had the hitch on sale for $79.95 so I was determined to make it work.

I have a small Cammond boxblade that fits the IMatch quick hitch perfectly.

Thanks for the info, The only one that has an issue is the box. The tiller blade mower and snow blower all work.
I will look at it again and see if I can narrow it down a little like one of you did and make it work.

I would also consider making changes to the boxclade to if it is easier and is the oddball implement.

If it doesnt work on your other implementsm your best bet is to return it, and get something like the pats easy hitch system.

+1 for Pat's. It's more expensive but, you don't have worry about it not fitting your attachments.
