Question for X7 gas owners

My son just purchased a 2011 X720 with only 264 hours on it. The tractor is in beautiful shape and was well maintained. The only oddity is that the throttle handle only moves about 2/3 up the slot. I checked the linkage and it is not binding or anything. Upon close examination at the end that attaches to the throttle body I saw that all of the wire from the cable is pulled into the cable when the orange handle is all the way forward.

I took some pictures to show what I mean.

Any suggestions?
