I have a L3130 hst. I would buy another one in a new york minute! I used to own an Allis D14 row crop tractor. I did like that machine, but really, there is no comparision. Here's the things I especially enjoy:
-Levers, not electronic controls...e.g. 4 wd is a lever, diff lock is a lever, 3 pt lift, pto, cruise are all levers.
-adjustable extension, lift arms...great for hooking up implements,
-That diesel is wonderful,

- hydrostat is great

Underpowered for its weight? I dont think so. I like mine exactly the weight it is, approx 3300# tractor alone.
The only ones I heard complain were the ones that had big implements or attachments. THose added weights really affect a little compact.
I would buy one again....but the B3030 is really a sweet size tractor...!
