question about toplink on my 3520

I think I broke my toplink. I lengthened it and when I tried to shorten it back it wouldnt turn. It appears there is a "stop" in there and it broke. I was turning it by hand. Pls explain what I did.

Stupid question:

Have you checked the lock nut/tab? If it's not that there is
a roll pin in the stud portion of the center links to stop you from backing
out the stud too far but even if you broke it you'd be able to turn it.

Look at it carefully, It may be bent. I bent the top link on my 2520 the first week I had it. Put it in a press and fixed it. JC
