Question about Roundup and discing

I sprayed my plots with glyphosate and 2,4,D last Monday (6 days ago). Everything is yellowing and looks like I got good coverage. My question is this: we are trying to get our corn and beans planted soon. Would it be unwise to go ahead and disc tomorrow (six days after spraying) or should I wait a little longer? Is the herbicide already taken up by the plant or is there still more activity from the folliage? Will I interupt the process by discing this soon? I expect we are going to have to spray one more time anyway, either right before we plant or just after if our seed are Roundup Ready. But I don't want to disc too early and reduce the spray's effectiveness.

Your plants are dead and just don't know it yet it would be OK to disc especially knowing you are planting RR corn and beans.

Ideal wait time is 10 days.... HCJ Tractor when you spray next time think about adding in some Ammomium Sulfate.

Hard water in the spray tank will reduce Roundup effectiveness. But adding AS alleviates problems caused by hard water.
you to add up to 17 lb. AS to a 100 gallon spray tank.

Probably ok with waiting 6 days to disc. Glyphosate is translocated within the plant within a few hours of application, just takes a few days to show signs above ground.

On the second application question, if you plant then spray before the crop emerges, you wouldn't need Round-up Ready seeds. Only need RR seeds if planning to spray R-up after the crop is up.

It's common practice in MI.

The number one reason I can think of is-weed resistant management.

If memory serves me correctly I believe the mechanism of action is different between the two herbicides and will not only speed up your targeted weed kill but has a more effective killing range

Mixing the 2 is common practice in the deep south also.

I always let the weather dictate in part. If you are not having cooler nights you will prob be OK. I assume since you are wanting to plant beans that the issue of a frost is over well past and your soil temps are in the 60s?

Depending on your equipment size, you may be time ahead waiting another week until everything is dead-dead. If you are using a small light disk it would cut better with everything dead. If using a much heavier Ag disk, you should not have any problems.

If you are disking it up anyway it really doesnt matter. The process of disturbing the soil is going to cause an entire new crop of weeds to germinate that you are going to have to contend with.

I think you are supposed to wait at least 2 weeks after applying 24d to plant.
