I bought a pair of headlight floods with switches built in so I could avoid the hassle of running wires back and forth to the dash but the switches that came with the lights were really poor quality and failed almost immediately. So I decided to drill the holes somewhat offset from the first set of smaller holes (for clearance) and put in a couple of switches I had. Note--I have the rubber toggle switch covers but didn't put them on yet. To get the switch to fit the hole exactly, I used a cheap harbor freight reamer to size the hole.

it worked great. The lights run off a hot wire that I fused and the lights bolt to the weight bracket on my B7800 and help me mow the grass at dusk. Plus, I can flick the lights on in the back barn at night without having the tractor key with me.

Maybe others have done this and this is old news but it worked for me and is a simple solution to finding lights with a built-in switch.

Good repair. I guess I'd want to add some of those rubber toggle switch boots to help keep the water out of the switches.

Never seen a switch put in a light like that. Pretty slick.
