Mowing pull type brush cutter on JD 3320

I have a 2015 3320 john deere utility tractor with hydro trans and 32hp. Today I was running my 5' new idea pull type mower thru tall fescue at 2200 rpm in mid range, going pretty slow, on hilly terrain, Then I noticed my pto was not turning, I shut off the pto and shut down the tractor. After a bit I started back up, And the pto worked. The question I have, Is this mower to much for the tractor? It is an older model mower, And pretty heavy. My thought, Is mabe the pto clutch was over heating. Thanks.

My pto clutch slipped and stuck my post hole auger in the ground, because I had adjusted the clutch wrong. I hope your problem is as simple a fix. At least you won't have to dig an auger out of the ground.
