Picked up my new 7510 on 12/23. After I trailered it home and got a chance to look over the manual, realized the pto shaft cap was missing. Is this a required item? The dealer gladly shipped me a cap- but not what it looks like in the manual.
Dealer sent a plastic sleeve that fits over the shaft. Will this suffice? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thats what came on mine. It is just to keep dirt and fingers
off the shaft.

Yep, mine looked like a piece of neoprene hose cut to the length of the PTO shaft and of a size that it would just fit on there snug. I even put it on there a couple of times, before I laid it up on a shelf and left it there. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sounds like the one I had before it got lost in the woods. I won't bother to replace it. Might stick a piece of rubber hose on the shaft though just to keep it clean and make it less likely to get wrapped up with weeds.

Rub a little grease on the shaft and throw the cap away as it's more trouble than worth to mess with it everytime you hook up. look around and count the number of shafts that have the cover on used tractors or friends tractors. Bird has the right idea.
