I purchased a used Kubota 4690 Backhoe/w PTO pump. The unit is working but seems to be weak. I don't have a manual but would like to put a gauge on the hydraulics and check the operating pressure. Can someone give me a heads up on how to do that?

Find a gage. 3000 psi or more. Target value is between 1500 and 2500, depending on mfg spec.

Determine the size connection from a hose to an easy to get to cylinder. Probably JIC #8 at a guess. Get an adaptor to mate the gage to the hose. Move the control and hold to measure the pressure. The relief valve will only let it go so far. That's it in a nut shell. Surplus center will have everything you need.
