I'm a new pto pump owner and hope to use it to power the woodsplitter I own, and I'd like some advice from those who have worked with these things.
Due to clearance issues I bought a shaft extender for the rear pto. The width of the pump body is about 5 inches or so but the shaft only penetrates about 3 inches. Other than the obvious inadequacy issues that the tractor is experiencing...is this a problem? Will this arrangement cause problems for either the shaft or the pump?
Also, the pump has a retaining chain to use to keep the pump from working its way off the shaft. What is the best way to attach this? Straight up or angled toward the front of the tractor?
What about rotation of the pump? Will the chain deal with this or should I attach a piece of flat stock to the pump bracket?
