How often should I take my quick hitch off to lube the balls on the 3 point arms?

EVERYTHING should be washed, painted, waxed, & lubed.
And make SURE it never goes outside or gets sun through the windows.
Store it on jack stands so the tires don't rot.

Absolutely correct. Another good "must do" is to keep those tires clean and well coated with tire dressing! Keeping the tractor on jack stands makes that cumbersome task a bit easier, and it keep the hours from stacking up.

I know you're joking, but I did this once on the side walls of my tractor and it did indeed kept the tires really clean for a long time. :laughing:

Yeah, I was joking. But I HAVE BEEN a bit **** at times in the past. I recall when I bought my first new Trans Am I'd take the tires off to wash the back sides of the tires. hmm - yeah, that was a lot stupid. Heck, I hardly ever even wash the outside of my pickup these days. Maybe back in the younger days (a long time ago) I had a bit more energy then?

What's this have to do with maintaining hitch and pto? Nothing at all. Sorry for the distraction.

You missed the fact that the jack stands have to be painted the same color as the tractor. Shame on you !

If you want to lubricant the balls but not attract dirt use silicone spray. Silicone doesn't attract dirt.

Thanks all, I can see some folks had a good laugh at the question. I am interested in getting the most life out of it and good care.

If rust isn't a problem so be it. I did find a product recommended Boshield which seems to protect and not leave a sticky surface. I did some general cleaning and now we are good to go to work.

My Ford 2n is almost 75 years old.
It has lived outside all it's life.
The balls on the end of the three point arms have NEVER been serviced in any way and still work just fine.
I don't think you will live long enough to see wear on yours.
