Project IHI 35J excavator bring back to life

Well I fixed the starter myself got it back on. I’ve been using it to cut ditches in the sides of my driveway. Pretty tough little machine. Got my gauge set in yesterday and reading the manual to where to check pressure and how to adjust. Just a little nervous about doing that part.

Hey guys been using my mini and getting use to the controls. I dug out the bank behind my driveway today and spread it on my driveway with my Mahindra 5555. Had to dig ditches down both sides. I’ve got 60 tons of asphalt millings coming in soon 20 tons at a time. I got some pictures for everyone and a small video

Update. Been digging ditches and noticed the cylinder I just had repacked is leaking out front. Small leak but a leak. The bucket cylinder. Downtime to take off and take back and get repaired.

What ended up being the cause of this?

When they assembled it a oring rolled and pinched. The company fixed it no charge. Just had a week of downtime over the Fourth of July

To the OP PooroldX , thats a kick azz excavator . Big fan of the old IHI stuff here . Still parts and support at IHI ACQUIRED BY KATO WORKS . You probably aware there in Kentucky . Excellent no frill products . I use to own a CL-45 (track loader ) . I liked there old paint schemes they used on there equipment . Some people would confused them for rental units . Now IHI was taken over by Kato , pronouced Kahto . Kato now is rebadged painted yellow like a Cat or Case , Gehl ect . God bless you got a good unit , money well invested in it .

Thank you very much. I love this excavator. Was helping my kids on their property recently and ripped the right track because of age and dry rot. Price of new tracks flipped my brain but got to have them. Went ahead a replaced in a pair. Changing in the field and mud is very fun. I painted it back to Original colors switch are hard to find. Still looking for Decals.
