John Deere 4120
Okay I took some time to price some tractors and implements today. So here are some MSRP prices on a 4120 tractor with some implements:

$26,668.00 - Tractor
$5073.00 - 400X CP Loader (60" heavy duty bucket)
$9,451.00 - 485 Backhoe
$2899.00 - Frontier 60" Grapple bucket
$2,520.00 - 655 56" JD Tiller
$2,600.00 - JD MX5 BushHog
$49,211 (I think...lolo)

If I were to go into a dealer an buy this package what type of discount could I expect or what would you guys expect. The price I was given was $44,800 without putting any effort into a better price.

What do you guys think a good overall out the door price would be? I should be able to put half down in cash, but I would have to finance the the other half.

* I was also wondering when the NEW MODELS come out? Do you think if I wait a while I might be able to get a LEFT OVER 4120 for a better price?

Many thanks,
Steve

I would think 41,829.00 would be a great price. That would be 15% off. This ecomonmy might help you with a better price.

I have a 3720 and I use an MX5 and a 673 tiller. Seems to me that the MX5 would not cover your tire tracks on the 4120.

The 655 tiller is also quite small and I do not think it offsets(could be wrong..). I think the 673 is recomended for the 4x20 models.

I also re-read your post... I would think a 60" bucket would also not cover the tires.....

I don't know the 4120, but if it is like the other JD 4x20, it has a minimum width of 5 1/2 feet. I agree with nmu98, the tools you mention are too narrow to cover your tracks and would be better suited for my JD 3520. If the tools are not as wide as the tractor, they have to be offset to cover at least one track and the job becomes longer and more tricky. I hope you find exactly what you wish.

Thanks for the replies I appreciate it ! You are right as far as the attachments goes. I was going to get a 3320 and forgot to price larger attachments when I started looking at the 4120.

As mentioned above get wider implements except the grapple, 48 to 60" is fine for that.

You should be able to get about 18 % off with a large down payment and still get 42 months at 0%.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply! WoW if I could get 18% off that would certainly make everything a little more affordable. Sure hope this dealer will deal like that.

Keep the opinions/info coming I greatly appreciate them ! I already feel like I'm better informed. THANKS
Steve

USMC 2531 ..... It all comes back now. My ten minutes of training with the radio and the one way ticket to the orient back in the mid 60s. " Spent a week there one night " and there was no charge for the fox hole sleeping arrangement. I guess i won the lottery when the big yellow bananna Boeing 707 appeared to take us home. The final night I slept by the nose gear against the wishes of the Air Force MPs.
At any rate enjoy the purchase road to a new deere. The dealers I had contact didn't speak much in discount but with the present economy even the Harley dealers are advertising low prices.

Have you thought about a decent used unit? I just bought a 2005 4120 w/ a 400x loader and a back blade. It had 260 hrs. on it and was near mint condition.... except for the top of the bucket being kind of bent up. It had one rear remote and a mid pto and the fella just used it to landscape around his 5 acre yard. The pto's had never been used. I had to drop everything I was doing and drive 300 miles one way to get it but the price was right @ $18,700.

I put her right to work when I got her unloaded.

Unfortunately, I need to get some attachments and need the the John Deere financing to get everything otherwise I might consider.

Does anyone know when the new John Deere models come out? I'm thinking maybe I could get a LEFT OVER for a good price when the new models come out.
