Can a pressure washer pump be converted to use on a hydraulic pump? If it can what do I need to change about it?

No, not a good idea. Heat would be the major problem.

The plungers on some pressure washers are ceramic. Don't know of a mineral oil based hydraulic pump that used ceramic plungers.

Are you asking if a pressure washer pump can be used as a hyd pump. Actually it is a hydraulic pump, but using water as the medium.

There have been test using pressurized water to drive a water /hydraulic motor. A lot of stainless steel, and special seals were used.
