power loss once engine gets hot?

The thought crossed my mind also that it getting hot might cause something else to malfunction. There shouldn’t be a lot of electronics to make the engine run, the only one I can think of is the lift pump and they usually aren’t where they would get hot but I’m not sure where it’s located on the OP’s machine. I’m still leaning on fuel delivery.

Either one is fuel delivery when you think about it. Is the lift pump part of, or intimate with, the injector pump?

Usually on smaller tractors the lift pump is near the back of the tractor.

The OP needs to describe the issue a little more clearly. He said it loses power when it gets hot. That doesn't tell enough of the story. What is hot in this situation? Is it getting hotter than it did before the power loss started or is it at normal operating temperature.

I've had my tractor plenty hot while mowing with the radiator full of weed seed and I don't remember any noticeable power loss. I just noticed the temperature gauge being higher than normal.

Have you checked the radiator coolant?? A 50/50 mix is usually good
to -50F. Its possible that your mix containts too much water

Actually straight water cooks better but antifreeze helps with corrosion and helps raise the boiling point.

Go hotter without boil off yes. But OP isnt reporting losing any coolant. Water moves the heat best up til it cant stay bubble free at system pressure.

Having a similar problem with my B2601, 275 hours on it. Runs hot under load - too hot.

Checked all the usual suspects, dealer's service manager asked if I had hosed off the radiator - yes, I did.

He said the problem *might* be that the hosed off crud didn't get all hosed off (lousy access) and has solidified on the radiator. He says he sees this a lot. I need to pull the radiator and Gunk it to get it really clean - will advise results.

Best Regards,
Mike/Florida

Possible debris in fuel tank. It's a
hidden problem that comes and goes. The fuel outlet is an unrestricted port at bottom of tank. The harmonic vibration from the engine compacts debris in that area. If this is the case, the tank will have to be removed and flushed to eliminate the issue.
Agree with above comments that fuel starvation will reduce power.

No fuel no power and it's not going to run, Low fuel pressure low power. Rule of thumb on a Diesel. It's a over heating water Temp. problem. So how fuel is getting it hot is the big question on this thread?
